Past, present, and future of green product innovation
2021
Firms are under constant pressure from various governmental and nongovernmental agencies to switch from conventional environmentally polluting products to green product innovations (GPIs). However, the relevant research pertaining to GPI has been published in a diverse set of journals that vary in their scope and readership and, therefore, the scholarly contribution to the topic remains largely fragmented. Process innovation objectives and management complementarities: patterns, drivers, co-adoption and performance effects
2012
[EN] The excessive concentration of the innovation literature on product development, its drivers and effects, has almost neglected an important strategy which develops and sustains a firm's competitive advantage: process development or innovation. Using 8,977 firms from Spain through CIS data, findings suggest: (1) most process innovation performance is explained wi…
Innovation Complementarity and Scale of Production
2006
We present an econometrically feasible model that uses the information contained in the innovation profile of each firm to test for the existence of complementarity among production and innovation strategies. Our approach is able to distinguish between complementarity and correlation induced by unobserved heterogeneity. We apply the model to analyze the Spanish ceramic tile industry where the adoption of the single firing furnace in the 1980's facilitated the introduction of new product designs as well as opening new ways of organizing production. Our econometric results show that there is significant complementarity between product and process innovation. Small firms tend to be more innova…
Estimation of Role of Sicilian Region on Production of Quality Wines. A Comparison between the Best Sicilian and Italian Wines by Using Influential W…
2016
Abstract Sicilian region (Southern Italy) has always been the larger Italian wine producer, because of their terroir (i.e. climate, soil and cultivar) and the extension of the vineyard area. These factors, combined with producers' targeted marketing strategies and actions, have grea…
